In this special spotlight episode of The Fin Factor, Aaron and Paul go behind the scenes at the SAP Center for an exclusive look at the latest food, beverages, and merchandise hitting the “Tank” this season. From massive tomahawk steaks to throwback threads, we’ve got the full breakdown of what fans can expect on game day.
A Taste of the Tank: 10 Courses of Game Day Eats
The Sharks invited us down to ice level to sample an incredible 10-course menu curated by Chef Francisco. While we didn’t exactly pace ourselves well, every bite was worth it.
- The Tomahawk Steak: This “dinosaur bone” tomahawk was the star of the show for Paul. It was served with fluffy spiral potatoes that tasted like the ultimate french fry.
- “Bun-Me-Up” Pork Belly: Aaron’s absolute favorite was this take on a Banh Mi, featuring pork belly on a cloud-like bun with pickled radishes.
- Loaded Tots & Baked Potatoes: We were served everything from tater tots loaded with protein and coleslaw to a massive five-pound loaded baked potato.
- Venezuelan Pabellon: We sampled three delicious varieties of this Venezuelan specialty, including beef, chicken, and a vegetarian-friendly mozzarella and black bean option.
Signature Sips and Sweets
No game day is complete without something to wash down the food and a little something for the sweet tooth.
- Signature Libations: We tried out the new signature drinks, including a Tequila-based option and the “Deep Waters” vodka cocktail. Keep an eye out for the cool 3D goalie mask sleeves that slide onto your cup.
- Dessert Highlights:
- The Dubai Cup: A surprise favorite featuring strawberries, chocolate, and pistachio cream.
- Churro Waffle: A “chaffle” topped with cinnamon and sugar.
- Taiyaki Shark Kona: A Sharks-themed take on Japanese Taiyaki, featuring a fish-shaped cone filled with teal ice cream and red “shark blood” sauce.
New Gear: The Sharks Pro Shop Showcase
Before diving into the food, we got a first look at the new apparel coming to the Pro Shop.
- Throwback Vibes: The team is leaning heavily into 90s nostalgia with mid-90s throwback logos and heritage-inspired designs.
- Standout Pieces: From sleek leather bomber jackets to repurposed jersey vests (Juice Check style), there is something for every fan.
- Headwear: Paul and Aaron both highlighted the new ’47 style trucker hats and the classic SJ logo designs.
